When in the Austin area, check out the Keep Austin Weird stuff around town, the music strip, and try the Habitat Suites if you're looking for an eco-friendly place to lay your head. We stayed there a few years ago, and it was fine...nothing fancy -- friendly staff, clean suites, and moderately priced. Surprisingly this is not a chain hotel, it's a one and only.
